Who is behind the fur-mulas?
I started with a simple idea: pets deserve treats as good as the love they give us.
Hi, I’m Haley, founder and head treat-maker at Fur-mula For Love. What began as late-night experiments in my tiny kitchen—trying to find snacks my rescue pup Margarita and my princess kitty Chloe would both devour—has grown into Fur-mula For Love.
I have always had a passion for making animals feel welcome and happy. With over 7 years of professional animal care experience, I wanted to create a business and brand that could help fellow pet parents like me keep their fur babies happy and healthy.
Every recipe is handcrafted in small batches using human-grade, locally sourced ingredients— No fillers, no preservatives, no “mystery meat.” Just the good stuff.
We’re hopeful to be a regular fixture at local farmers’ markets, where we get to meet wagging tails, curious noses, and the humans who adore them. But we know not everyone can make it to the market—so we ship nationwide, fresh from our oven to your doorstep.
Our toys? Designed for joy. From durable rope tugs to feather wands, each one is made to spark playtime (and survive it).
We also craft custom handmade collars and leashes from a variety of materials to fit the style and vibe of every furry friend.

My Experience With Animals
Since a child, I have always had pets, from dogs to cats to guinea pigs and chickens. I have always had a passion for caring for animals and making them happy. In 2018, I began working toward a path to become a veterinary technician. I have worked at various kennels, with rescue groups, and managed a boarding facility for 2 years. Originally from New Jersey, coming to Michigan and experiencing the love people have for their animals helped me realize I was in the right place. I strive to provide excellent care for every animal as if they were my own, and I have since I began working with animals. Fur-mula For Love is the beginning of a company that will eventually be able to care for an endless number of all species of animals. For now, I'm starting small, with helping you be comfortable knowing your pet is cared for while you're away.
With over eight years of hands-on experience managing and working in kennels and boarding facilities, I’ve cared for hundreds of dogs and cats—from playful puppies to senior pets with special medical needs. I’ve led teams, designed enrichment programs, handled daily operations, and most importantly, learned exactly what it takes to keep pets safe, calm, and happy in a home-away-from-home environment. I’m Pet CPR and First-Aid certified through the American Red Cross, and Fear Free Certified, so I understand how to read body language, reduce stress, and use gentle handling techniques that make even nervous or anxious pets feel at ease. Fur-mula For Love is fully insured and bonded, giving you complete confidence that your pets and your home are always protected while in my care.
Our Fur-mulas
Every Fur-mula is handcrafted and lovingly “brewed” in our cozy home kitchen right here in Lansing, Michigan. We start with locally sourced, human-grade ingredients — Michigan-grown oats, free-range eggs from nearby farms, and wild-caught salmon from the Great Lakes — measuring, mixing, and baking in small batches to guarantee freshness in every bag. No factories, no shortcuts, just a rolling pin, a warm oven, and the same care we’d give our own pets.
